Title: Electric Grid Integration of Electric Vehicles: Identifying and Unlocking the Value

Abstract:The electrification of transportation has become a key pillar of climate policy in many jurisdictions around the world. Policy makers and electric utilities are actively working to formulate policies and strategies that encourage electric vehicle adoption, maximize their benefits, and minimize the need to invest in electricity infrastructure upgrades. Electric vehicles also have the potential to become valuable distributed energy resources in the electric grid. In this talk, we introduce a framework for analyzing the costs and benefits of electric vehicles from different stakeholder perspectives. We then apply the framework to analyze electric vehicle adoption and vehicle grid integration technologies in several regions across the United States.
